A community run non-profit event organized by Adventure racers and sports people you are sure of a great experience where all abilities and categories are catered for with something for Adventure race beginners wanting to give it a try while meeting all the challenges required by Experienced racers Cycle through the Drumlins of east Cavan\, kayak around the stunning crannogs of Barnagrow lake and enjoy the scenic views of Lough Sillan and Lough Tacker as you run or hike along the quiet trails and laneways.  See below for details:\n\n\nWHERE\nGallonray House\, Maudabawn\, Cootehill\, Co. Hot food available for purchase.\n\n\n\nCategories: \nOpen                             Male/Female \nVeteran (Over 40’s)     Male/Female \nMasters (Over 50’s)     Male/Female \nRelay                             Any combination \nRace Details:   \n1) Run 4k \nThe Cavan Kayakarun Challenge starts at Gallonray House with a 4k run (on tarmac). \n2) Bike 16k \nOn completing the 4k run you get on your bike at the bike Transition at Gallonray house and cycle 16k to the beautiful Lough Barnagrow. \n3) Kayak 1.5k \nRack your bike at Lough Barnagrow where you get on a sit on or sit in Kayak and kayak around the Two Crannogs taking in the stunning scenery and return to the bike Transition at the lake shore. \n4) Bike 18k \nOn completing the kayak section you return to your bike and cycle 18k to Race HQ at Gallonray House. \n5) Run 4k \nThe final leg of the The Cavan Kayakarun Adventure Race is the same 4k run as completed at the start racking your bike at Gallonray House and completing the last challenge before crossing the finish line. \nCosts : \nIndividual  = €55.00 \nTeam of 2 or 3 = €90. \nRegister Now!!!

DESCRIPTION:Event Cancelled\nQuest 12 Beara is a new\, one-day individual unsupported adventure race across the uncharted territory of the Beara Peninsula in West Cork. \nYou will run across the Caha Mountains and the Beara way\, cycle through the Healy Pass\, along the Ring of Beara\, and through the picturesque villages of Eyeries and Allihies. Kayak in Bantry Bay out to Bere Island and follow an ancient trail run around the island\, before finishing on the shoreline of the famous fishing village of Castletownbere. \nTotal distance: 151.5km.\nTotal Elevation: 3297m \nStage 1: Run - 18.35km\nDescription: Starting at Berehaven Golf Club (T1)\, there is a short road run before you hit the trails. Climb to the top of Maulin Mountain which is a looped run\, returning back to Berehaven Golf Club (T1). \n\nStart: Berehaven Golf Club\, Castletownbere\nFinish: Berehaven Golf Club\, Castletownbere\nTerrain: Tar road\, Trail/ forestry Path\nPrecautions: Slippery when wet\nDistance: 18.3km run\nTotal elevation: 605m\nLink to the route map: https://www.plotaroute.com/route/1544695\n\nStage 2: Cycle - 82.3km\nDescription: Collecting your bike at T1\, cycle east from Berehaven Golf Club along the Wild Atlantic Way.
