The Milford and District Adventure Race Donegal also known as MAD, is an Adventure Race for all levels set in the heart of Donegal, just 10 minutes from Letterkenny. The event offers 2 courses to challenge all capabilities and expectations, a 29k Sprint course or the ultimate 59k full course. The Sprint course starts of with a fast 5k run, followed by a 1k kayak around the extraordinary island on Mulroy Bay. This is then followed by a scenic country side cycle on tarmac roads through kerrykeel making their way back to Milford via Ray over a 22k cycle where competitor’s finish with a 1k run back to base at the Milford park. The Full course begins with a 10k run, followed by a 2k kayak around the spectacular island’s of Mulroy Bay. Competitors then take on a more challenging 43k Cycle taking in the Famous Knockalla Climb allowing for some stunning views of Donegals Wild Atlantic Way. However mid cycle, Competitors must complete a 3k Trail run up and around the Windmills on the breath taking Glenvar Hills before making their way back to Milford via Rathmullen for a final 1k run to the finish. Now entering its second year, the MAD Adventure Race Donegal is already considered one of the top adventure races in Donegal and indeed the biggest scheduled for this Summer 2018 and undoubtly is set to grow in popularity. Last year in its inaugural event seen some 300 competitors take to the line with this year’s Numbers set to hit the maximum 350.

FRIDAY – Evening Before

REGISTRATION Registration will take place in Moyle View Park 7:00pm – 9:00pm
You wil be issued your timing chip, race number and bicycle sticker. Please ensure to complete registration before bike drop.

BIKE DROP Situated on lay-by on Main Milford to Kerrykeel road 7:00pm – 22:00pm.
NOTE: There is limited parking at transition, please be vigilant of other road users and always adhere to the rules of the road. Please move on once bike drop is completed, to avoid unnecessary delay or obstruction.

* Late Registration will only be considered for those travelling from outside the county

SATURDAY – Post Race

Refreshments, DJ and post race massage will be available at the start / finish area from 10:30am. Shower facilities will be available at Moyle View Park complex (Start/Finish area)

Transition opens from 11am – 3pm, located on the main Milford – Letterkenny road, 1km from finish.

Please follow marshal’s instructions and be courteous of fellow competitors still active in the event. Remember you must have your corresponding race number following the event to collect your bike. No exceptions.
Transition will close at 3.00pm sharp, all personal belongings will be removed from transition area prior to this.

Prize Giving
Lennon Lodge, Rathmelton @ 8pm, followed by M.A.D. after party.
