We are only a couple of sleeps away from the kick off of the solo adventure race season in Kenmare. It also marks the start of the Adventure Racing Ireland Solo Race Series And as has been the form for the last few years, the weather gods look like they will be stirring it up again. It looks like it will be a wet and wild weekend of fun on the trails once more.

For those who have made the trip over the last few years, they know what to expect. For all first timers, make sure you kit out properly. Trail Runners only! Road runners just will not cut the mustard I’m afraid, unless you want to spend the majority of the run on your back side. A good waterproof top too if you can. You are going to be exposed to the elements like never before.

It’s not all doom and gloom though. There have been improvements to the trail along the Kerry Way on the first run in the Expert race.

For a full breakdown of the races, routes, GPS and all import info click here…it has everything you need. It can be the making and breaking of your race, so we always advise to do your homework and know what’s in store for you.

We have always found this event a great way to shake off the winter cobwebs. It’s a good honest race. A perfect start to the season.

A great weekend awaits us and the after race party will only be amplified with the 6 Nations on the box too. Kenmare will be rocking this weekend and we can’t wait to get stuck in and see you there.
